Jim Senderhauf - Bass
Jim - what's to say about Jim? Well, Jim (and Jeff) are the founding members. And they are cousins. This band in many ways is a story of their relationship. Good and bad. It is what drives them together and sometimes what drives them apart. But they are married to the band... and each other for that matter... like a left shoe needs a sock. And they both hold their mouth open in the same stupid way sometimes.Without Jeff's exuberance for rock and roll, Jim would probably still be sitting in his living room with a sequencer and a drum machine trying to record the perfect song... alone... and never coming close to the standard that his perfectionism requires. Alas, Jeff's mild suggestion in early 1995 that they do a show of 50's songs for their parents' upcoming 50's theme party was so simple and stupid that Jim agreed to do it. What the hell? Why not. Punking up a few 50's songs wasn't serious music... and nobody in their family would inflict the harsh artistic judgement Jim was sure would come if he tried to do anything serious. Confidence issues? You bet. Jim can barely hold anything in his stomach before a show.

Jim had been teaching Jeff how to do some basic power chords. Previous to that Jeff had been pretty much making up and playing folk songs. So when this gig idea came up, Jim decided since Jeff was learning guitar, he'd pick up the bass to accompany him... and after a few practices with "Ed" (Jim's relentlessly consistent drum machine), they came to the conclusion that a real drummer would be cool. So, since this gig was just for fun, why not pull in a co-worker of Jeff's who hadn't played drums before except the snare in band. So, with the addition of Terri Rozell, they called themselves "The LunchMonkeys" (after the skin covered monsters in Doom whose sudden appearances made Jim scream like a girl).August 5, 1995 was their first performance in Jeff's parents backyard for a 50's themed party. They knew about 8 songs that all sounded the same. Jim sang with a lyrics book open in front of him. They used stereo speakers for monitors. Jeff had shorts and black socks on. But hey, at least they weren't sitting on their asses dreaming anymore. It was the beginning of something... So, a couple of band names and a few drummers later, here they are, polished up and sitting on thier hands waiting for you to find a reason for them to play at your party. What are you waiting for? (So where's the lowdown on Jim you say? Dig deeply into his psyche at creepo.net, his internet home.)
